First exhibition of Kino Palais at Millennium Film Workshop In the 15 year anniversary of Kino Palais, we begin the first formal program exchange with Millennium Film Workshop. While we have shared the work of individual artists in the past, this is the first step to unite networks from different ends of the continent. We believe that our organizations share similar affinities and interest for underground and "not so conventional" cinema. The distance that separates Buenos Aires from New York is long but the work done on both sides (film projections and performances) seems so closely related. The first collaboration between Millennium Film Workshop and Kino Palais is “Zelfportret470” curated by Ana Villanueva and Marto Alvarez and it will screen at Millennium in New York, October 28. The films and videos included in this screening have different approaches to self-representation, and were obtained by using a variety of devices for capturing the moving image. Digitized films, analogue and digital video works, found footage, or videos recorded with mobile phone cameras are part of this selection that includes the first performative self-portrait in the history of Argentine video art.
