TWO FILMS BY JOSE LUIS SEPULVEDA & CAROLINA ADRIAZOLA

Millennium Film Workshop presents a double feature evening with the most daring directors currently working in Chile, Carolina Adriazola and Jose Luis Sepulveda. This retrospective screening includes their first and most recent feature film: Pejesapo (2007) and Harley Queen (2019). FILMMAKERS IN PERSON! Q+A WILL FOLLOW THE FILMS. These films contain graphic sexual content and may not be suitable for some viewers. PEJASAPO (2007) Daniel SS is a maladjusted man whom, after a failed suicide attempt, tries to restart his life from Río Maipo to the centre of Santiago, on a journey in which he finds no reason not to kill himself. HARLEY QUEEN (2019) A woman strives to find her identity through a supervillain, dancer and mother in the Bajos de Mena town which is known as “Chile’s biggest ghetto” in Puente Alto, Santiago. Adriazola/Sepúlveda, is a duo of filmmakers who have been working together for more than 20 years, immersed in the different realities of Chile. Praised by critics and the public as the most daring, interesting and controversial directors currently working in Chile. To date they have made El Pejesapo (2007), Mitómana (2009), El Destapador (2012), Crónica de un Committee (2014), Il Siciliano (2017) and Harley Queen (2019). Films that have been part of festivals such as Locarno, San Sebastián and BAFICI, among others. Other retrospectives of their films have been dedicated to the duo in Peru (Transcinema), Spain (Málaga Festival and Madrid Cinematheque) and France (Toulouse Festival). They are also founders of the FECISO (Social and Antisocial Cinema Festival),  which has been running for 12 years with 23 versions and it is also the first Popular Film School in Chile, running for 12 years to date.
