Millennium Film Workshop, 167 Wilson Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, USA
About the event
Millennium Film Workshop is proud to present a night of mystical and occult films ranging from the birth of avant-garde cinema to contemporary practitioners living and working in the five boroughs. A moment seems to be unfolding, with the esoteric bubbling to the surface in the wider art world. Here comes a chance to partake in that ritual with works by Maya Deren, Brian Butler, Katherine Bauer, Kenneth Anger, and Brooklyn’s own Alexis Karl.
Alexis Karl will not only be in the audience with her filmmaking partner, Adam Torkel, but will also take part in a Q&A afterward to discuss her work, broader themes of the mystical and feminine, and the practicality of bringing the otherworldly to life.
Nunet Clitandre will be doing Live Tarot readings for the audience as well!
Curated by Preston Light.
