Doors at 7:30pm, screening at 8pm.
A night of Sensory Cinema featuring Agnosia (30 min.), directed by James Autery
followed by a Q+A with the artist.
Opening with three short films by MM Serra, Erica Schreiner, and Abigail He.
These four avant-garde films coalesce to engage the audience in a sensorial immersion.
Agnosia is about a young woman named Neva, who was born blind and has surgery to see for the first time in her life. Despite her courage and being very observant, she has a difficult time coming to terms with an overwhelming new sense that was far from what she expected while blind. A friendship is formed with a visiting psychologist studying her case and helps her to appreciate the beauty of her new sense and overcome the fear of a new, unknown world.
