Preston Spurlock - Songs of the Vineyard

Millennium Film Workshop welcomes Preston Spurlock back to grant us privilege of assessing the journey-so-far on his freewheeling, kaliedoscopic animated feature, Songs of the Vineyard. In production since 2020, this project transposes audio from religious and self-help cassette tapes into the mouths of a cast of bizarre characters, whose interactions weave in and out of one anothers, with ironic imagery reflecting the preoccupations and contradictions of a culture of sentiments and actions compartmentalized and irreconcilable. Replete with interludes into found-footage remixing and claymation, this is a rare chance to a see a major work in development!

The preview screening will be followed by a live A/V set by Preston, and he'll share some of his favorite strange finds  from the depths of the internet video vaults.
