Heat Shimmer Theater

In the midst of summer, we constantly look for ways to escape the sweltering heat, avoid the sunlight, and cool our bodies as a means of survival. But what if we could immerse ourselves in a conceptual yet experiential indoor environment and re-encounter the overstimulating season about and beyond the heat with our senses, all while not actually sweating? 

Heat Shimmer Theater moves through moving images, light, sound, and sensory installation to explore what we see, what we hear, and how our bodies experience space. Featuring light performance, site-specific soundscape and installation, along with films by Hollis Frampton, David Gatten, and Thom Andersen.

Millennium Film Workshop is proud to present Heat Shimmer Theater as part of our ongoing Personal Cinema Series. Due to the unique immersive nature of this screening and performance, seating will be limited.
