The annual horrors of the Halloween Bacchanal season are upon us! Millennium Film Workshop is glad to take part in the festivities, but we wish to offer a different type of Halloween, one that more accurately reflects the true spirit (and terrors) of the season...

MILLENNIUM FILM WORKSHOP PRESENTS: COSTUME / CONSUME Films, Fashions, and Installations in defiance of the Halloween Industrial Complex We present to you a selection of works, events, films, fashions, and installations in defiance of the Halloween Industrial Complex. We want to see a Halloween where the timeless ancient rituals of costumes, masks and expression are divorced from the machine of conspicuous consumption wrought by the capitalist holiday paradigm. Each year, Spirit Halloween Stores possess dead storefronts like reanimated corpses. Ugly, sexy costumes glorifying the police and military and cashing in on racial stereotypes and gender conformity are overproduced by cheap sweatshop labor and summarily discarded November 1st by the careless. hungover populace. We wish to see the costume as a political act! We wish to draw attention to the mad consumption of candy for kids and drugs for adults, to see it for what it is... an exploitation of your rebellious nature, twisted to the intentions of your oppressors and serving the destruction of the environment! Make your own costume! Re-Purpose, Re-use, Re-mix! Forever in costume---consumers no more!
