BASIC FILMMAKING
Monday Evenings

INSTRUCTOR - ROSS McLAREN
An introduction to the fundamentals of filmmaking with the emphasis on independent personal work. There are 8 weekly sessions. Each class deals with a different aspect of filmmaking—cinematography, lighting, sound, editing, etc. 16mm & S8mm filmmaking are covered.
Times—7:30pm to 9:30pm.
Workshop Fee - $175 plus $20 membership fee.

DIGITAL VIDEO
Selected Saturdays
INSTRUCTOR - CLIFF ROTH / JON JOST
An intensive seminar that provides everything you need to know to get started producing your own low-budget independent video (and video-to-film transfers). The class includes question and answer periods and an opportunity to screen short clips of your own videos on a theater-size projection system. The class is for beginning and intermediate-level students. Bring your own camcorders. Learn all apects of the new, emerging digital technology.
Workshop Fee - $90 / $75 (No membership fee required).

FINAL CUT PRO EDITING
Weekday Evenings
INSTRUCTOR - LARS FUCHS /
RACHEL SHUMAN
This class will introduce you to the basics of desktop editing using the Final Cut Pro system. The fundamentals of digital video will be thoroughly discussed. The instructor will guide you through all of the steps in the post-production process. The emphasis will be on the technical as well as the artistic implications of this discipline. Times—7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Workshop Fee - $195.

OPTICAL PRINTING
Starting April 28 - Wednesday Evenings
INSTRUCTORS - KELLY SPIVEY
This is an intermediate-level class on the use and creative implications of the J-K Optical Printer. After completing this class a member is eligible to rent time on the Millennium's printer. The class is limited to 6 people.
Workshop Fee - $150 plus $20 membership fee

Of course it is impossible to explain filmmaking in 99 minutes! Or is it? Elliot Grove, founder of Raindance and one of the most knowledgeable filmmakers in the UK, will attempt just that and give you a viable plan and dozens of filmmaking tips in just 99 minutes.This evening workshop will run through the basic essentials you will need to create a film and to create a plan to launch your career.

Tue July 27 – 7pm- 9:30pm - Live! Ammunition!
Your chance to pitch your movie idea directly to a panel of top film executives. These are the people who matter. They are the people who buy scripts - they are the people who decide what will be made and what won't.

To pitch, drop a fiver in the hat and the floor is yours for up to two minutes. The panel can gong you off if you are boring, but they have to give you two good reasons why.

This event is not for the faint hearted, or for those who cant handle the truth.

Wed July 28 – 7pm-9:30pm - Creating A Business Plan
Once you have scoured film festivals looking for new talent, settled on the next hot director and found that absolutely terrific script, you need to prepare a plan of attack to get the money to shoot your film. This evening workshop will run through the basic essentials you will need, both to present your project to industry investors, as well as how to present your project to private investors.

Wed August 4 – 7pm-9:30pm - Lo-To-No Budget Filmmaking
Want to make a movie and don't know where to start? There has never been a better time to break into the film industry. Learn the basic principals of shooting a feature film (or short) for little money, and discover the secrets of marketing, financing and selling your film on Day 2. Probably one of the most popular Raindance courses ever.
